Andalusia is a first-class rural destination. Juan Ignacio Pulido, a professor at the University of Jaén, said that our community "has been able to efficiently manage the international demand for rural tourism." Rural tourism is "a young activity with great scope for growth." Pulido also said that the "type of tourist has changed."
Travellers seek "specific and individual motivations." According to Pulido, rural visitors want to "participate in and learn from the place they are visiting" with its everyday aspects as they have a "growing social and environmental conscience."
The most visited areas in Andalusia among rural tourists include the large natural spaces in the Province of Huelva, with Doñana and the Sierra de Aracena being the main attractions in this area.
